Fairlop entered the Mini Games Tag Rugby tournament on Monday 10th March. It was held at Wanstead Rugby Club and 20 teams took part. Fairlop won all their matches:
  6 - 3
  5 - 3
  4  - 3
  8 - 3        Semi Final against St. Anthony's
12 - 11      Final against Oakdale (after extra time)

The team has been receiving extra training sessions on Thursday Mornings from 8 - 9am with Mr Turner (parent/governor) who coaches Wanstead RC.
They now go on to represent Redbridge at Crystal Palace in April.

Good Luck to our team!

London Youth Hockey

Last week we went to the London Youth Hockey Competition. It was great fun and everyone enjoyed themselves.
We kept fit and active even when it was time for our five minute break! We have all trained very hard for this event by having our coach come in every Monday to train us. We were given great tips and advice on how to tackle the opposition.
On the day, we lost one match against Bancroft School but we didn't let them drag us down we kept our heads held high and carried on! The hard work paid off since we won every single match after that!
Sadly we lost out on goal difference so we didn't manage to get to the final. However the other schools, that also didn't qualify, like us, were allowed to play matches and guess what? we won all of those as well!!

Netball Match Report

On Tuesday 13th November, Fairlop's Netball girls went to Redbridge Sports Centre to play matches against Chigwell Primary and Churchfields Primary School.
Our first game was against Chigwell. It was pretty tense but we came away with a 2-2 draw. Our shooters were Carla And Jaida.
Our second match was against Churchfields. Guess what? We won 6-1! We were all so pleased with this result. Our shooters were Megan, Jaida and Carla.
Well, the only way is up!!
A big well done to Isobel who was nominated by the team as 'player of the match'!

Netball

On Tuesday 6th November, 11 Fairlop Netball players travelled to Redbridge Sports Centre to play two matches. One against St Joseph school and the other against St Aubyns.
The first match against St. Josephs we lost, so that left it all down to the second match against St. Aubyns. Fortunately for us we won 2-1!!
It felt really good to win!
At the end of the day we were all really exhausted but we all had lots and lots of fun!!!

Mini Olympics - KS1

Key Stage 1 have been enjoying time together showing off their sports skills.

Unfortunately, the rainy weather meant staying in the hall, but that didn't seem to dampen their enthusiasm for hula-hooping, judo, tennis, keepy uppy and the other sporting skills they are acquiring!

Curling Competition

We recently held a curling competition for Year 3 students.  Every child had 20 attempts before we totalled all the scores.

Medals for special awards were given out and a trophy was presented for the top class scores!

In first place was Jake Hare (3SH).  He scored an amazing 3380 points, followed closely by Hisham Ikram (3K) in 2nd place.  Hisham's score was 3280 points.  In 3rd place was Sam Lawrence (3P) with 2955 points.

Well done, Year 3!

Rain stops play!

KS2 sports day
On Tuesday 28th of June, key stage 2 had a chance to have an afternoon of  fun because it was sports day. Each child at the school had a chance to do every activity. The activities were:
Basketball
Bean bag race
Egg and spoon race
Javelin
Obstacle race.....
and lots more.

Unfortunately, as the weather forecasters had already warned us there was from out of the sky the most awful storm ever. There was thunder and lightenenin and everybody (including the parents and people watching) had to make a dash for it into the hall. We were are really soaked and were supposed to watch a DVD in the hall, but because we had got so wet we had to go back to our classrooms and change back into our dry clothes.
It was a real shame that the afternoon had to be cancelled but we all enjoyed the little time we had showing off our sporting skills!
